It’s been quite a while since I first started making my signature line of magnetic mould and deckles, and with each passing year my paper production continues to grow… SO, it was high time to finally maximize my papermaking system by building the largest mould and deckles possible. What a dream. Each new stationery sized mould is perfectly made to pull as many sheets as possible and still fit into a large vat and basic box fan drying system. (If you’re curious about my system, check out my tutorial, which is packed full of information on my papermaking setup). I think it’s safe to call this new collection our Professional Series. Nice ring to it, eh?

Heavily coated in marine epoxy, each piece (mould and deckle) is buffed to a super smooth finish, and fitted with magnets to gently, but firmly, hold the deckle in place on top of the mould. The basic “student” mould design (flush mount) is truly elevated to a luxurious and long lasting papermaking tool with that magnetic detail. Pretty brilliant, if I do say so myself… The poly screen is heat shrinkable with a hairdryer, and very durable. Pulp just slides off of like a dream, and the thick epoxy edge along the mould gives a beautiful crisp edge to each sheet. I’m slightly obsessed with those pretty brass screws, in case you were wondering. Such a joy to use. Should last a lifetime with proper care.

Now offering the following stationery sizes, with approximate sheet size (depending on the specific shrinkage rate of whatever fiber you are using, of course). Deckles are built slightly smaller to accommodate the natural deckle edge, and help ensure that the finished sheet fits in a standard (non-handmade) envelope whenever possible.

A9 (5 1/2 x 8 1/2’’) - makes 4 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 13 x 19 x 1 1/2’’

A7 (5 x 7”) - makes 6 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 16 x 17 5/8 x 1 1/2’’

A6 (4 1/4 x 6’’) - makes 8 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 14 1/2 x 21 1/4 x 1 1/2’’

A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/4’’) - makes 9 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 15 3/8 x 19 1/8 x 1 1/2’’

4Bar (3 1/2 x 4 7/8’’ )- makes 12 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 17 1/4 x 17 x 1/4 x 1 1/2’’

Business card (2 1/2 x 3 1/2’’ ) - makes 18 sheets. Overall dimensions of mould: 13 1/2 x 20 1/4 x 1 1/2’’
